As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Ryan Family Financial, John works behind the scenes and alongside clients to ensure every part of their retirement journey is built on a strong foundation. He is the steady hand that helps keep every plan on track.
Before entering financial services, John spent more than 25 years in the automotive industry and several years in home construction, serving in leadership roles in engineering, quality systems, manufacturing, operations, and business development. Those experiences taught him that lasting success is built through careful planning, consistent execution, and an unwavering commitment to the people you serve.
Today, those same principles guide his work—helping families create organized, coordinated strategies while overseeing the day-to-day operations that allow the firm to deliver exceptional service.
Known for his calm demeanor and thoughtful listening, John enjoys simplifying complicated decisions and believes with the right strategy, almost any goal is achievable.
Outside the office, he enjoys time with April, their blended family, seven grandchildren, cruising, antiquing, and cheering on their favorite football teams (sometimes a house divided). At home and in the office, Gunnar and Skye are always by his side.

With more than 25 years of experience in financial services, April has served clients in nearly every capacity—from welcoming families into the office and coordinating educational events to managing account transfers and designing retirement strategies. Those experiences shaped her belief that the best financial plans begin by understanding what matters most.
April specializes in retirement income planning, Medicare education, Social Security strategies, legacy planning, and organizing every piece of a client’s financial life into one coordinated strategy.
A lifelong North Carolinian and proud member of the Belmont community, April enjoys baking, antiquing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with John, their blended family, seven grandchildren, and their two office dogs, Gunnar and Skye.
